Harassment situations in work environment occur in all professions, and in academia it is no different. Thus, we felt the necessity to survey  the Brazilian astronomy community about the quality of their working environment. The first survey was done in 2015 and preliminary results can be found here.

 

 

Goals

The main goals of this project are:

 

- Establish the big picture for quality of working conditions in the Brazilian astronomy community

 

- Use the results of the survey to start a discussion within different Brazilian astronomy institutes,  to bring awareness to this important issue

 

- Suggest preventive measures to increase the quality of working conditions in all levels of academic career

 

- Monitor changes in the working conditions through periodic survey
